This week I unexpectedly came down with a horrible sickness, something like strep. It hit me out of the blue and really took everything out of me. I had a great day Monday filled with a busy day teaching, a run in the early evening, and then a yoga class outside overlooking the mini-alps. Tuesday morning I woke up with a horrendous sore throat that only got worse throughout the day and then I spent the next three days in bed or on my couch. At least I am now caught up on Grey's and 24. You would think being home that much you would get a lot accomplished, but I was pretty knocked out. One of my really nice parents (of my students) took me to the doctor Thursday, where I was surprised that they did a "finger prick" to test whether or not I had a bacterial infection. My childhood fears started coming back...hated that finger pricking. Glad they don't do that in the States. It's now Friday and I've taken two doses of the antibiotic and I'm feeling much better. As I was laying on the couch this week, I had a lot of time to think and wanted to write an entry just about what I miss at home and what I miss or maybe won't miss here. Not to be negative, more just appreciative of home!
