To watch the election coverage, we made our way to a party in Milan sponsored by the American Consulate. It was at a place Le Banque and about 1,000 people attended the event. We arrived about 10:30 pm, since it started at 10pm. Yes, we were planning on it being a very late SCHOOL night. We stayed at the party until about 2am, then went out for a bit to a club called The Club, and came back about 330 for the breakfast they were serving. We arrived back at the party in time to see the coverage toward the end...if I remember right Obama has just taken Iowa...? We left very late, in the pouring rain, and arrived back in Lugano at about 430am. Needless to say the next day was very rough! I made it through and now have a very unique experience to tell! These are some of the pictures from the night. My friend Jenny was claiming the BUDWEISER, we were cracking up that we were at an American party in Italy, celebrating our Presidential race, yet there were tons of Italians enjoying Budweiser beer. The other pictures were with the cute bartender, Fabrizio, and the men that looked to us like Italian secret service...always easy to make friends!
