A first...

Today I ventured out into the cold to go running. Surprisingly, I have actually gotten used to running in 3 layers...but today when I had to run through snow and some ice, it was definitely a first. Coincidentally, I just read an article in Runner's World about running the Pike's Peak Marathon in a blizzard. They suggested inserting screws into the bottom of your shoes and while running today I actually thought it may be a good idea. Otherwise it is asking for an injury. We'll see, doing something like that here, would require a lot of work. The run was great and even though it was chilly, the beautiful sunset filled the sky with wisps of blues and oranges which made up for the cold. For dinner last night, Stacey and Jenny and I decided to venture over to Ascona, another Swiss town on Lago Maggiore.  This is one of the lakes that is in part of Switzerland and part of Italy.  It was a quiet night along the lake, but I could imagine in the spring time it will be filled with people.  We ate at a small osteria called Nostrana and we all agreed it was a step up from some of the pizzerias in Lugano.  I've been wanting to visit Ascona for awhile, so I was happy!  I might go back on Saturday during the day too!  Hope you are all having a good week.  The italians here are starting to celebrate Carnevale.  Students in the italian section of the school put on a performance today at school introducing the holiday tradition.  I would love to travel somewhere in Italy for the event, but instead I'll be in London...oh well!  And by the way, sorry about the slideshow pictures, I promise I did not take those...

Maybe you can use one of your screws that you have that keeps coming loose? HA! Just kidding. That sounds really practical actually. Don't you love running in the snow though? I love how quiet it is...and no one else is around. That's nice too.
