Finally a weekend at home...
The Elementary School students performed in a Christmas concert here on Friday to celebrate the season. Since we all wanted to be supportive teachers we stuck around to see their debut. It was really cute, the 5th graders did a great job and it really got us all in the Christmas spirit. Not that I am not already in it, getting so excited about coming home so soon! My friend Amy, a good friend from high school, also came to visit. She is completing an internship for Culinary School at a restaurant in Florence. We had a relaxing weekend hanging around Lugano. Friday we had Italian of course, and then went to a party at our favorite club, La Roy and then Saturday decided to try one of the Mexican places for dinner. We were lucky to get in without a reservation, since most restaurant only have one seating. It was actually quite an experience at Alegria. Cara, Kelly, Brooke, remember we went there last year...? Well it felt like a completely different restaurant. First of all, it was packed and at the end of dinner it turned into what felt like a club...so strange, but fun. Saturday, Amy and I shopped around and bought some yummy ingredients to make an amazing breakfast Sunday morning. It was quite a treat, since I don't even think I've seen a scrambled egg since August. It was sad to have Amy leave, but I'm excited to plan a trip to the city in January! Some other friends went skiing this weekend at Andermatt, a mountain about 2 hours away. They said it was great and full of powder, which makes me very excited for our ski trip in January. Ski season has definitely started around here! Only 9 days to go, the count down is on!!!
