Rainy rainy rainy Switzerland...
We left Lugano Saturday to experience a different part of Switzerland...Luzern! I had been there last year with Kelly, and knew it would be a nice day trip. It was raining the whole two hour train ride, but the views were still beautiful. Water was flowing down from the mountains creating natural waterfalls and the alps were capped with the first snow of the season. I know it sounds unbelievable, but the area in Italy, that we were supposed to hike through this weekend got 2 in. I guess it was probably good that we didn't end up going. Our day in Luzern was fun, we spent most of it in Mr.Pickwick's, the English Pub. It was cozy and filled with people watching the Manchester United soccer game. Afterwards we actually went to an english movie...Kel if we only knew last year, it was a lot closer than the IMAX. The hotel we stayed in was simple, but not the best...note to self plan ahead. After the movie we had dinner and then stopped back by the pub. We ended up meeting some nice Swedish men that really sparked our interest in traveling to Sweden and Denmark. Always good to make new friends! We came back to Lugano early enough to get some work done for tomorrow and relax before starting another week. The rain had subsided, so I went running. I actually found a couple tennis courts in the area! Only need my racket and a partner. Stacey, my roommate, and I are planning our trip to Florence for the last weekend in September. We're hoping to get a good hotel recommendation. It's really helpful having so many people at TASIS that travel often because you always have a great resource. Tomorrow the faculty yoga class starts and I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Just wish I brought my yoga mat...
