Mexican food in SWISS LAND

Wednesday night my roommate, Stacey and I decided to venture out. She has been here a year and knows a lot more than I do. We headed to one of 3 Mexican restaurants in Lugano for something different. I know you might be thinking why would you want Mexican food, but you would understand after being here a few weeks (right Cara, Kelly, Brooke, + Bailey??). We arrived at Dona Juarra (not the one we went to last July) and were disappointed to see that it didn't open until 7pm. Instead we heading over to this chi-chi bar called Soho. It's kind of a wanna be Soho, but definitely the more happening place in Lugano. The weather has been nice that last few days, so we were able to sit outside and enjoy our split or wine spritzer, a speciality that everyone seemed to be drinking. It tasted like Sangria to me. We had one which was plenty and right as we were about to pay "il conto" the nice italian man next to us, Mr.Mario, decided to just order us another round...without asking if we were even interested. After gulping down at least some of round two we finally headed back to Dona Juarra. At the restaurant, we ordered a small plate of chips and salsa and very small margaritas. Fidel's or Tony's would put these little drinks to shame! We had some burritos, that were good, but definitely not up to par coming from SD. There is just something not right about eating Mexican food for me here...we noticed a lady eating a bowl of guacamole for dinner, almost like it was a soup...strange huh? After dinner we had our, well Stacey's friend Salvatore, the taxi driver, come pick us up. He had also spotted Stacey when we were leaving campus earlier in the afternoon and gave us a ride for free. What a guy! My new BFF. Off to bed now, for another day. Tomorrow is our big day to Lugano to finally get bank accounts downtown! Yeah!!
